1917-C George V Newfoundland Half Dollar PCGS MS64  Sold

I love Newfoundland coinage and believe it is wildly underpriced relative to anything else in North American coinage, especially when the coins have original surfaecs.  This Newfoundland half dollar is essentially steely-white, but it is an original surfaced white coin with thick patina that forms a steel-silver-grey color above undulating and swirling luster.  Both sides have adhered dirt and skin that most would dip off in an attempt to earn a higher grade or to market to a broader pool of potential buyers, but the coin has some chatter in the obverse fields that likely would prohibit an upgrade after a dip.  That is a good thing for the coin and a good thing for folks who love original coinage, especially the quirky coinage from pre-confederation Newfoundland.  There are all of 16-coins graded MS64 with a whopping (sarcasm alert!) seven coins graded higher.  These typically come neither nice, nor original; this is the exception.  Sold
